About this project
The Te Huia Drive project is without a doubt one of our favourites houses we have worked on—so much so that Dean wishes he'd kept it!
Designed to stand out from the uniform, unoriginal plaster finish gable houses being built on the street, this 265㎡, 5 bedroom home is situated on a sunny, North facing gully section. The house was designed to maximise its sunny positioning with big decks, a bright kitchen and layout to suit entertaining.
The house was finished with James Hardie vertical stria with Rosenfeld Kidson Vertical shiplap cedar.
Key design features:
- Offset garage with a reduced width to allow for parking space for a third car or boat
- Kitchen and second lounge placed to suit the Western sunset and views down the gully
- 50㎡ covered portico with an expansive 90㎡ Vitex deck
- 3rd toilet added to keep entertaining guests outside of the bedroom areas
